ABL, LDA sign agreement

KARACHI: Allied Bank Islamic Banking and the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have inked a memorandum of understanding to provide cash collection and management services for the LDA urban development wing, sports complex and schools.

A press release said on Monday that the agreement will enable Allied Bank to provide stakeholders of the LDA and peripheral wings with banking services on their doorstep, it added.

Boeing signs $13.8bn deal with SAL

WASHINGTON: Boeing Co on Monday signed a previously announced deal with Singapore Airlines Ltd (SAL) to sell it 39 aircraft worth $13.8 billion at list prices during a White House event with Singapore’s prime minister.

The airline said last week it would finalise the order during the visit as part of its bid to modernise its fleet over the next decade. Airlines typically receive discounts on jet orders, and the deal is estimated to be closer to $6.5bn in value.
