CHITRAL: As many as 20 drivers will participate in a jeep rally being organised by the Pak Army, which will be started from the Chitral city on Oct 20 and reach Islamabad via the Shandur Pass and Jaglot area of Gilgit-Baltistan.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Tuesday with Commandant Chitral Scouts Colonel Moeen in the chair. It was decided that the motorists will depart from the city amid festive atmosphere featuring a polo match in the polo ground.

The meeting decided that the Azadi Jeep Rally would be given a warm welcome in different towns by the people in Kuragh, Mastuj and Laspur while the rally will make an overnight stay at Shandur Pass before entering the GB.

Colonel Moeen said the event in the polo ground and the reception points en route to Shandur would be designed in such a way that they evoked patriotism in people as the rally was being organised in connection with the 70th Independence Day celebrations.
