PESHAWAR: Former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Ziaullah Afridi, who recently joined Pakistan People’s Party, has criticised PTI chief Imran Khan for using derogatory language against Asif Ali Zardari during a public meeting in Hyderabad.

Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, he argued that Imran Khan himself was becoming a threat to the country owing to his ‘immature’ politics.

He alleged that the PTI chief was working on a hidden agenda of Jewish lobby by creating hurdles to the development and progress of the country.

Flanked by PPP’s provincial deputy general secretary Behrmand Tangi, the PPP leader alleged that Imran had misguided the youth of Pakistan though his speeches and sit-ins. He said the abusive language used by the cricketer-turned-politician did not suit him.

Referring to the statement of PTI leader that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari would soon be behind bars for corruption and bad governance, Mr Afridi said jails were not new for PPP leaders.

Zardari remained in jail for 11 years despite the fact that he was acquitted in all corruption cases by courts, he added.

The lawmaker alleged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister was involved in mega corruption in the province.

He claimed that all the government contracts were being given to Jahangir Tareen, the PTI general secretary.

The PPP leader contended that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission was not independent and transparent. He alleged that Dr Nowsherwan Burki, a cousin of Imran Khan, was involved in funds embezzlement.

He claimed that PTI was losing the ground, saying PPP would achieve a landslide victory in 2018 general elections.

On the occasion, Bahrmand Tangi said instead of accusing others Imran Khan should take action against massive corruption in KP institutions.
