HYDERABAD: A man was killed while four others were injured in an accident on the Tando Mohammad Khan road near Cattle Colony within the limits of Seri police station on Sunday morning.

Seri police station SHO Shoukat Ali Mangrio said police had arrested the alleged driver of a car that collided head-on with a rickshaw carrying four men, one child and two sacrificial goats.

All occupants of the rickshaw were shifted to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Hyderabad branch. But rickshaw driver Mohammad Nawaz, 40, son of Maqsood Ahmed Khan Yousufzai, succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Injured Syed Abdul Waheed, Ramzan Khan and Rasheed were discharged after first aid while (child) Mohammad Kaif was shifted to a private hospital.

The SHO said the car’s driver, said to be a student of intermediate, seemed to be under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place. But the medical report in this regard was not received till filing of this report.

He said the deceased was a resident of Latifabad-11 and the car driver belonged to Tando Mohammad Khan.
