QUETTA: Strict arrangements have been made to ensure security around Eidgahs and other places where Eid prayer will be offered in the city and adjacent areas.

In Quetta, Eid prayer will be held at 178 Eidgahs, mosques and open places. Of these, 12 Eidgahs and mosques were declared very sensitive and 11 sensitive.

The deputy inspector general of police for Quetta Range, Abdul Razzaq Cheema, said on Friday a comprehensive plan had been formulated for ensuring security of the people. A total of 5,000 security personnel would be deployed in and around Quetta, out of which over 1,400 would be deployed at Eidgahs.

No vehicles would be allowed to be parked near Eidgahs and mosques. Parking arrangements would be made away from the places of worship.

A spokesman for the provincial government said that similar security arrangements had been made in other towns and cities of Balochistan.
