Tehmina Durrani, renowned rights activist, author and wife of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on Thursday criticised the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif over his 'homecoming' rally, saying that Nawaz paid heed to "the most mediocre advisers a leader could have chosen".

In a series of tweets, the Punjab chief minister's wife also called out the elder Sharif for shutting down shops and hotels on his way home, demanding to know who will pay "for their profits and losses".

Durrani, echoing Chaudhry Nisar, also accused Nawaz of "rejecting" those who were experienced and sincere to him .

She went on to call the PML-N's rally an "under-19 game" and advised Nawaz to fire his "failed" media team.

This is the second time Durrani has spoken against the PML-N chief on Twitter since he set out for Lahore amid security concerns.

Yesterday, Durrani had admonished Nawaz for making Shahbaz "protect and assist his own party's rally".

The former premier had started his journey to Lahore via GT Road amid tight security, on Wednesday, after he was ousted from prime minister office by the Supreme Court in July.

The rally initially moved at a slow pace, with a meagre number of supporters following him on foot and in cars. Senior PML-N leaders including Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif have not accompanied the ousted leader, which might explain the small crowds.
