QUETTA: Four local leaders belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) along with their supporters on Friday.

The four leaders — Sadiq Tareen, Bacha Khan Achakzai, Nasibullah Achakzai and Bacha Khan Kakar, announced their decision at a press conference, which was also attended by president of the PPP’s Balochistan chapter, Ali Madad Jattak, and its General Secretary Syed Iqbal Shah.

The leaders who have joined the Peoples Party expressed confidence in the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and said the PPP was the only party that could solve the problems Pakistan was facing.

They said the PPP’s leadership and workers had rendered great sacrifices for restoration of democracy in the country.

On the occasion, Mr Jattak and Mr Shah welcomed the decision of the four PTI and PkMAP leaders to join the PPP.

Mr Jattak said his party would emerge victorious in the general elections to be held next year.
