QUETTA: Levies personnel recovered on Wednesday a trader who was kidnapped from Quetta at gunpoint on May 30, officials said.

Abdul Hanan was kidnapped from Almo Chowk and recovered from the Barshar area of Pishin district following an operation ordered by Pishin Deputy Commissioner Tariqur Rehman.

During the operation, security men signalled a vehicle to stop, which accelerated. Security personnel trailed the suspected vehicle after which an exchange of fire ensued. The suspects abandoned the vehicle taking advantage of the darkness leaving an injured Mr Hanan behind. He was shifted to a hospital.
