KARACHI: Nishtar Club completed their league engagements by staying unbeaten when they coasted to 54-45 points victory over One Unit Club in the last fixture of the Essa Lab basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Wednesday evening.

The wnners have qualified for the title clash where they face runners-up team of the league on Monday. This is Nishtar Club’s fourth straight final of the year in which they have been able to won one.

Nishtar Club had a slow start as they conceded the first quarter 10-14. They quickly rejuvenated their act and won the second 19-6 to earn 29-20 lead at half time.

Again despite losing the third quarter 10-13, Nishtar Club had an upper hand 39-33 over their opponents while they wrapped up the match winning the fourth 15-13.

Asad Ali and Talha Amjad garnered most of the points — 17 and 16 — respectively for the winners while Saifullah contributed eight.

Talal was most outstanding for the losers with a rich haul of 21 points and was supported by Tashfeen eight and Kashif seven.

One Unit Club suffered a blow when Talal was sent out for five fouls in the fourth quarter.
