LARKANA: The Mirokhan police on Monday arrested a suspect, Fayyaz Magsi, and claimed that he had affiliation with the proscribed nationalist group, Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM).

He was booked under the Explosives Act, Qambar ASP Hassan Jahangir said.

Accompanied by SHO Muzammil Soomro, ASP Jahangir told reporters in Shahdadkot that the suspect was arrested after intelligence reports suggested that he was assigned to blow up vital installations and electricity pylons.

“Magsi was arrested at the Chutto Mastoi turning within the jurisdiction of the Mirokhan police station,” he said, adding that two hand grenades were seized from him. An FIR (No 25/2017) was registered against him under Sections 3/4 of the Explosives Act, the police said.

SHO Soomro said that the suspect was declared absconder in two cases of terrorism registered against him.
