LAHORE, Dec 22:The secretary of Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF), Kamran Butt, disclosed that Pakistan will send men and women teams to participate in the Asian Swimming Championships to be held in the UAE next October.

Kamran was speaking to the media after attending the PSF general council meeting on Monday.

Elaborating, the secretary said that PSF had received an invitation and decided to send its swimmers to compete in UAE.

Outlining the PSF’s programme of events he said that the PSF women’s wing would organize a triangular competition from June 30, 2004, involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh besides Pakistan.

The federation has decided to hold the 9th SAF Games swimming competitions for men from March 30 to April 3 and women contests from April 4 to 6 in Islamabad.

The meeting approved Pakistan’s Olympic swimming team comprising a male and a female to contest in Athens Olympics-2004 and has also decided to hold the 29th National Games-2004 swimming competition at Lahore next September.

Besides, the PSF would hold the 46th National Seniors championship for men in collaboration with Army at Islamabad, Kamran said.
