ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto will visit India next week to attend a peace conference, a source told Dawn here on Sunday.

The former prime minister will attend the two-day conference in New Delhi which was being arranged by a leading Indian newspaper.

The source said that during her stay in New Delhi Ms Bhutto was expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and opposition leader Sonia Gandhi.

The PPP chairperson will also meet various peace activists and leaders of other major political parties of India.

It may be recalled that Benazir Bhutto has welcomed the confidence-building measures recently taken by both the governments.
