QUETTA: Renowned scholar, intellectual and former head of the Balochi department of the University of Balochistan Professor Mir Abdullah Jan Jamaldini was laid to rest here on Tuesday. He died on Monday night. He was 94.

A large number of people, including government officials and tribal elders, attended his funeral.

Professor Jamaldini was father of Mir Dostain Khan Jamaldini, the chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority.

He had written several books on Balochi literature.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has expressed sorrow over the demise of Professor Jamaldini.
