LAHORE: Police recovered on Monday the body of a woman who was reportedly kidnapped from the Factory Area of the provincial capital some 15 days ago.

The woman was killed and her killer had dumped her body in Lilyani area of Kasur.

Police said Shamshad, mother of four, went missing from her house and a kidnap case was registered with the Factory Area Police Station on the complaint of her brother.

During the investigation, the police arrested Shehzad, a friend of Shamshad’s brother. The suspect confessed to killing her and burying her body in Lilyani area of Kasur.

On the information provided by the suspect, a police team reached the spot and exhumed the body from the grave. The body was later sent for postmortem.

ROOF COLLAPSE: A factory worker was killed while his colleague was injured when the roof of a factory collapsed in Nawab Town.

According to Rescue 1122, the workers of the hardware factory on Raiwind Road were busy in work when the roof caved in with a bang and two of them were trapped under it. They were identified as Zulfiqar and Nawaz, residents of Bund Road.

Locals and rescuers pulled them out of the debris and shifted them to the Jinnah Hospital where Zulfiqar was pronounced dead.

Police handed over the body to the deceased’s family after legal formalities.
