Stranded Pakistanis to be provided medical facilities

ISLAMABAD: The government of Saudi Arabia will provide medical treatment to stranded Pakistani workers at hospitals and bear all the expenditures, Saudi Health Minister

Dr Tawfiq Al-Rabiah assured Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Deve­lop­ment, Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi, on Wednesday.

The two ministers discussed the problems faced by stranded Pakistani workers due to non-availability of medical facilities in their camps.

The federal minister also met Saudi Minister for Labour and Social Develop­ment Dr Moufarrej bin Saad Al-Hagbani, to discuss payment of salaries and renewal of Iqamas.

The ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, the managing director of the Overseas Pakistan Foun­dation, community welfare attaches and other Pakistani and Saudi officials concerned also participated in the meetings.

Mr Rashidi later met the coordinators of these camps to tell them about the findings of the meetings.
