HYDERABAD: A former sector in-charge in the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) organisational structure, Nadeem Qazi, was picked up by law enforcers outside the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) building in Latifabad on Tuesday following a brief chase.

Qazi, a BISE employee and resident of Latifabad Unit-5, had left home for his workplace in his car in the morning. Some law enforcers riding two double cabin vehicles chased and intercepted the car, which finally hit against a footpath. Qazi ran towards the BISE building in order to escape arrest but some men in civvies already present there caught hold of him. He was then taken to an undisclosed place.

Qazi’s family members and other residents of Latifabad Unit-5 held a protest demonstration outside the local press club. His mother, Irshad Fatima, said her son was not named in any criminal case. She said he must be produced in a court if he had committed any offence.
