KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: Western media did not played its role in covering, condemning or conveying condolences when Saudi Arabia was confronted with terrorism in 1979, said Ahmad Al Yahya, a Saudi ambassador to Kuwait.

In an article published on Monday in the Arab Times, Ahmed Al Yahya said 200 fundamentalist attempted to seize the sacred mosque at Makkah on Nov 22,1979, but the western media was not bothered by this sad incident.

He said Saudi Arabia since 1979 was battling to contain terrorism and eradicate this menace which has sneaked into the kingdom.
