ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the PML-N filed the nomination papers of Sheikh Ansar Aziz for the office of Mayor of Islamabad, and of Riffat Javed, Zeeshan Naqvi and Azam Khan for the offices of three deputy mayors.

They will be pitched against the PTI’s candidates Raja Khurram Nawaz for mayor’s office and Ali Awan, Fouzia Arshad and Raja Zulqarnan as deputy mayors. But they seem little chance of winning as PML-N 50 councillors outnumber PTI’s 27 in the Islamabad Municipal Corporation.
