Love in the time of Twitter: Ali Zafar and Junaid Jamshed's bromance

When Ali Zafar set out to confront Junaid Jamshed for his sexist comments on Twitter, little did he know that this would be the start of a budding bromance.

The Kill Dil actor tweeted to the evangelist for a clarification after he said the following on live television: "God dislikes that any woman should be named [in the Quran]."

He inquired if the former Vital Signs singer thought women were inferior to men, and surprisingly, Jamshed responded with "Not at all."

The conversation didn't end there though.

Ali wanted to get to know him better. And it seems like the feeling was mutual.

We're just not quite sure what he's trying to say. Worrying about what? His daughter driving? Or the fact that she's a woman? Or whether Ali Zafar will tweet him back?

If it's the latter, he has nothing to worry about.

Woah, Ali's ready to take things to the next level.

JJ doesn't seem to mind. You know what they say; communication is the key to a successful relationship.

We guess Zafar's bromance with Ranveer Singh is old news now. Can't say we blame him; JJ's beard is more on point than Ranveer's these days.

Good question, worrying about what? I think JJ needs to pick the words correctly. As Mullana Tariq Jameel rightly says, control this part of your body (referring the tongue) and you will be successful.

Q1_Why do we consider JJ a religious scholar? Q2_Has he changed his source of income? Showbiz ? He gave up singing for religious entertainment. That's same source of income even a better platform to promote his Garment s business.

I think mulanas should leave the topic of women and focus on character building of young Muslims. They should strive to guide Muslims to be the most honest, truthful, helping, kind, tax paying and nice persons on this planet.

JJ has disappointed many people. There is one thing in our religion, which I believe is the best, but we have never been allowed to pay any attention to it by the Mullahs and that is to forgive. I personally believe JJ should apologise to the women. The basic problem is that every one with a beard thinks they are superior to women. How do we get rid of that mentality.

Sometime poor selection of words can put you in a great trouble. I think this is what happend with JJ. Lets not make it a big deal and let it go. There are more important issues to worried about than JJ opinion about women.

I think Ali Zaffar had some doubts when he asked about the gender equality question to JJ. I am sure he was not satisfied with the answer and this was the reason he asked the next question.

Recently I have read about women rights in Islam and seriously women have more advantages than men. Men is responsible of each and everything. We can not squeeze them just for the sake of argument.

One thing I must say that Junaid Jamshed is very humble and honest person. May be he is not good in expressing himself but I am sure he is not like some jokers roaming around in the media.

@AsR why is it only the responsibility of women? Is it enough we gave birth? You try carrying 20 lbs of weight tied around your belly for 9 months 24/7. And still have to do all the cleaning and the cooking, and in some cases work.

Cmon another name for parents is being worried ..what's the paranoia about that...I am a mom and I wouldn't ever buy a motorbike for my son ( I'd buy him a car though) does that make male inferior.

I am really amazed to see how intolerant we've became for anyone who is religious. JJ is human after all. Why do we have to pick on every word he says? If he says he is worried about his daughter then what's wrong in that now? Is it not a father's instinct to be worried about his children? Moreover he has already given clarification on what he said on live tv. Seriously though, get a life and leave that poor guy alone.

I think people at the religious stage should stop talking about what is the difference between men and women. They should move forward with the acceptance that women are human being. There are hundreds and thousands of other important matters which are effecting the society at present. I humble suggestion to people at the religious stage, please stop creating mess within the society, as we are already far behind from the real world.
