LAHORE: In the fourth segment of the Samson Memorial golf tournament held at the Lahore Gymkhana golf course on Wednesday, the top performers turned out to be Taimur Shabbir and Shafiq Masih in the PRO-Amateur section and junior caddy Ramazan Jani in the Caddies category.

This championship was held to commemorate the memory of Samson, an accomplished golfer, who died young four years ago.

Taimur and Shafiq combined well as a team to produce an impressive aggregate score of 139, five-under-par but at the conclusion of the competition they found themselves at par with the combination of Aadil Jehangir (pro) and amateur Farooq A. Khan, who also aggregated the score of 139.

As per rules, the two pairings had to go into a play-off and the play-off turned out to be a nail-biter.

The pair of Taimur and Shafiq managed to reign supreme in the play-off battle.

Ramazan with the score of gross 71 topped caddies competition.

Zafar Iqbal also had a score of 71 and so did Haroon Masih.

The top position went to Jani as he had a better score on back nine.
