KATHMANDU: Nearly 2,000 are feared dead in the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday. The quake was felt as far as Mount Everest, where it's tremors caused a massive avalanche, claiming 17 lives.
Recurring aftershocks ─ as great as the 6.7 magnitude shocks which were felt on Sunday ─ have plagued the area after the earthquake.
Pakistan, India and China have been among the first responders, sending various forms of aid to the earthquake-affected region.

Heart breaking. I commend GoP for immediately sending relief goods to Nepal. They should also offer Helicopters. I remember that during the earthquake of 2005 helicopters were pivotal in rescuing people from areas where road infrastructure has been damaged.

It's soothing to see that China,India,and Pakistan has begun relief operations,besides US has also joined the effort.Nepal a landlocked country must be helped enabling it to revive asap, and soon everything will be OK as people of Nepal has a history which says its people are brave,brilliant,valiant.

India should pour money to rebuild Nepal from its National disaster relief fund. After all, Nepal is a country most loved by Indians.. According to me, Nepal is just another state of India... Get well soon, Nepal.. Love from Chennai...

Latest reports says, still aid has not reached effected areas, and many of them have not taken food since the earth quake. Started to rain, chances of mudslides. God give Nepalese people strength, to overcome this devastation.

It's very embracing to see US donated 1 million to Nepal tragedy, matching half of Sri Lanka donated from it's limited resources. Happy to see India and Pakistan moving forward along with UAE. Helping countries should send people and resources to Fix electric Grid, water supply lines and to clean the roads. Immediate need for water and food. Need many orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons to operate injured persons. Pakistan should send self sufficient large team but also takes notes how to establish rapid response team and improve existing system in Pakistan for such tragedy. Immediate need for Taking photos of injured and dead; immediate need to put data on different injuries, how many fractures, how many head injuries etc. These should be many local stations to keep photos of missing and way to put use Facebook connection to united missing; immediate need for chargers for cell phone so that people be connected.

It is great tragedy and we are with Nepal. India will ponder the flow of money into Nepal for its reconstruction and redevelopment. We will donate out salary for this. Indian army has already taken the charge and air force is doing their best to save as many people as they can. They are working smartly. From India, they are bringing relief material, food, medicine, doctors and other required assistance and from Nepal they are taking people and tourists who are saturated.
Modi himself is taking change of this rescue operation. It's national disaster of India too.

As nepali , it is heartening to see these images, but we r really thankfull to all our neighbours and friends, .Probably it isbecauseof the goodwill we have earned , everybody is ready to help us, we have shed our bloods for so many countries in many war through our Gurkha brothers and saved many life through our Sherpa brothers and sisters, i m happy to see that everyone is ready to give us helping hand, it was happy feeling to see so many restaurant here in sydney this morning with Nepal donation box, hope this will continue, as we will need big help this time. and thank you very much to pakistan as well. Also we r luckier that we have Mr Modi in India
