KARACHI: Chairman of the central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan secretary general Shah Mohammad Owais Noorani have said that every Muslim has sentimental association with Harmain Sharifain, but certain Ulema are trying to create sectarian atmosphere in Pakistan by their provocative statements.

Condemning this attitude, they said the country could not afford such a new trouble.

Addressing a meeting of Ulema at the residence of the JUP leader Rizwan House on Thursday, Shah Owais Noorani advised the government not to take any measure in a hurry, which could create confusion in the country.

He said the decision of sending troops should be left to the parliament.

Mufti Muneeb asked the government not to take action against religious seminaries.

By one of the resolutions adopted in the meeting, the Ulema also condemned the use of the loudspeaker law to harass them and demanded that the cases registered against Ulema for violation of the act be withdrawn and unregistered Madaris be facilitated to get registered by extending the registration date and raids on religious seminaries be stopped.

Allama Irfan Mashadi, Mufti Mohammed Naeemi, Mufti Mohammed Jan Naeemi, Mufti Abdul Haleem Hazarvi, Mufti Sharif Sarki, Mufti Abdul Baqi, Pir Abdul Khaliq Bharchundi, Allama Muzaffar Hassan, Allama Amjad Nomani, Abdul Rashid Noorani and others attended the meeting.
