ISLAMABAD: PPP Senator Rehman Malik urged the government on Sunday to immediately convene a joint session of parliament and share with lawmakers information about the Jundullah militant organisation.
“The prime minister must call a joint session of parliament to disclose information about Jundullah and to tell people about it,” he said in a statement which he issued to condemn the suicide bombing at Wagah border in Lahore.
The former interior minister urged the government to tell the nation about the “reality of Jundullah, an emerging dangerous terrorist organisation”.

In an apparent reference to the ongoing sit-in by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, he said it was the time for unity, not confrontation. “We as a nation must stand united along with the army to defeat terrorists.”
Rehman Malik calls for joint session of both houses of parliament
Mr Malik called for an enhanced role of law-enforcement agencies during Muharram to prevent any untoward incident.
Condemning the Wagah attack, he said no words were strong enough to condemn the cruelty and brutality of these terrorists whom he always called ‘Zaliman’.
He said such attacks were aimed at destabilising the country “but we will not let these...enemies of Pakistan succeed in their nefarious activities and malicious aims”.
Taliban could not be appeased and must be condemned by every Pakistani, particularly the political leadership of the country, he said.
He expressed the hope that the ongoing Zarb-i-Azb military operation in North Waziristan would lead to rapid and absolute elimination of terrorism and extremism.

Rehman Malik failed as minister of security and now he is all gang-Ho talking about terrorist. So many innocent people were murdered on his watch yet he did nothing but talk just as he is doing now. Talk is cheap Mr. Malik.

He is the same person who was responsible for security of common public but never bothered to do anything solid. As soon as they are out of the government, somehow they know all the responsibilities of govt but not when they are in the govt.

What was the PPP govt., doing at the time of their tenure.The naval base was attacked.so many other heinous attacks were carried out..even the operation was delayed for about 3-4 years.had that been done we would not be facing these attacks today.so who is responsiblefor that,at that time the home Minister was hibernating and now he wakes up to say the govt shoud tell the people who jundullah is.PPP has the habit of firing guns on other peoples shoulders

Good sense prevail... We Indian has all moral support to this. Act of terrorism is always bad. There is no good or bad terrorism. West always save their army by engaging groups like Taliban, ISIL or Khurds.... In long run these groups always harmful.

This Jundullah is active since long and over the years has claimed / boasted of having killed many...many people....but no action is reported to have been taken against it. As suggested by Rehman Malik not only a joint session should immediately be called but all necessary steps should also be taken by the govt and army to wipe out this terrorist group all together.
After all how long the govt will allow mass murders to continue and react only thru condemnations ?

What ex minister knows, Pakistanis do not. Pakistanis need to know which of the state institution is backing this terrorist organization. The Jandullah terrorist are either belong to some local madrasa. I guess it's time for Pakistanis to say good bye to the terrorists and get serious.

This is not the time to gain brownie points and to start telling each other "I told you so". Can you even imagine the impact on each family who went through the torment? Even those left alive are destroyed!!
How many such organisations are you going to disclose Mr Malik? Instead lets all focus on the root causes - why are these guys allowed to grow? Where do they get money? How do they get trained to do such acts? Why do police and locals not find out what is happening till very late? Who are the people likely to be benefiting from such actions and what is the State doing to stop them? Are you really interested in going after "all terrorists" or still differentiating them from freedom-fighters?

Segregating the Tanzeems on the lines of strategic assets and to those hostile to Pakistan becomes vitally important. It has to be ensured that process of eliminating hostile Tanzeems takes care to carefully save,encourage and strengthen the strategic assets like Let for continuing to infiltrate into India to fulfil Pak's strategic objectives of bleeding India through 1000 cuts.What a dilemma and self destructive line of action.
Whole crop of young minds have been intoxicated by extremist distorted education in history.It cannot be nullified in near or medium term.The process of their containment is going to bleed Pak even more that it does to India,Afganistan and China

Pakistan has too many Mushroom parties, groups and this will continue to grow. Many of these groups and parties are killing or injuring innocent men, women and children. It is high time Pakistan in-act a law banning existence or creation of a party or group unless unanimously approved by a committee comprising the party in power and the major party in opposition. There should be death penalty for being a member or supporter of banned party. Yes, few will be hanged but tens or hundreds of lives will be saved.

Not a single terrorist has been punished although many were caught and convicted. They should be hanged in public to dissuade fresh recruits.

Jundullah existed and flourished when Mr. Malik was the Interior Minister. Today Mr. Malik is the wise guy, advising on security issues. But unfortunately, Mr. Nisar has not proved to be any better than him.

what is one thing common among all the terror groups regardless of their affiliation. They need money to finance, access to arms and ammunition and above all, people (recruitment) to carry out their plans. Cut the source and these organizations will go away. Simple as that. Educate the masses both religious and school. Give them jobs. Create a system in such a way that the people stay busy and give them a reason to live. Empty mind is a devil's work shop. when they have time on their hand, and poverty in their homes, they more than likely to join these evil organizations.

@Junaid, well said. Pakistan is 67 years old. Time enough to provide people with jobs, livelihoods. The crisis that Pakistan faces is the making of Pakistan state, and its affiliated agencies, religious political parties, Mullahs, agencies, etc. We have brought this on ourselves, no-one but no-one else has done this to us, we Pakistani's have ruined Pakistan, not India, not America, not Israel, not the "kafirs" not anyone else. We have never learned what a nation means, on how to promote nationhood. We have never learnt anything from history, we in-fact write "blatant lies" in our school history books, to be corrected by Dawn and Herald writers, historians, intellectuals of repute. Consider what happened from 1947 to 1971 when there was East Pakistan, consider that in 1971, according to independent researchers 200,000 to 300,000 people were killed, why? because we do not know what it is to be a nation. We the West Pakistani' never treated the Bengali's as equals, even though they were the majority. Our political religious parties have never openly condemned the extremists, how can they, they are their creations, and so this state is what it is to-day. We think in terms of Sunni, Shia, Deaobandi, majority, minority, Punjabi, Balochi, Pukhtoon, Sindhi, and so and so forth, never does one speak of being Pakistani first and last and nothing inbetween. So as long as we live in this mindset, we will be where we are.

Rehman Malik's track record is well known by most Pakistanis who've been watching his antics while he was Interior Minister and even afterwards. He's insanely egotistical and relishes media attention even when he conducts himself unprofessionally. If only he had used his time in the UK to brush up on the Queen's English and get some advanced education, he may have been able to polish his image .. his neanderthal outbursts haven't exactly helped his reputation as a wannabe "gentleman."
