Thousands rescued as death toll from floods reaches 346

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's disaster management agency said on Saturday that rescuers with boats and helicopters have evacuated about 50,000 people from the country's south after raging floods inundated more villages there.

In a statement, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) said that two dozen people were killed in the past 24 hours in Punjab, raising the death toll from rains and flooding to 346.

It said floodwaters wreaked havoc in Punjab province and was now passing through remote areas in the southern Sindh province.

It said so far no deaths have been reported from Sindh province.

Floods have also killed 200 people in the India-controlled part of Kashmir since September 3 when monsoon rains triggered flash floods in the Himalayan region.

346 deaths in floods are not a matter of concern to our Ministers and Government but the matter of more concern for them is the meeting Between Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri held sometimes back in London before the start of agitation.

Pakistanis.If you have any sanity left please stop blaming India for this.You need water in Thar,you need water in Baluchistan and remember two of the many probable reason for the elimination of Indus valley civilization was drought and flood,there wasn't any dams built at that time,the periodic occurrence of these two natural catastrophes is characteristic of the geology of this part of the sub-continent. So manage it,manage your water before it's too late.
