HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Hyderabad, on Friday announced the results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-II (class-X) science and general groups annual examinations 2014.

All top-position holders in the science group belonged to private schools while those of the general group came from government schools. Girl outshined boys to clinch most top positions, as usual.

In the science group, Aamna Shamim of the Country Cambridge High School, Civil Lines, Hyderabad, and Mohammad Adeel of the Strong Base High School, Hyderabad, shared the first position by securing 764 out of the total 850 marks.

The second position went to Ms Sumbal of the Zain Public School, Badin, who got 762 marks. The third position was also shared by Filza Shah of the Hayat Girls High School, Hyderabad, and Shiza Asif of the Foundation Public School, Hyderabad, by securing 761 marks each.

A total of 60,656 candidates (38,240 boys and 22,416 girls) appeared in the exams and 50,729 candidates (31,757 boys and 18,972 girls) were declared pass.

In the general group, Ms Tasleem of the Government Girls High School, Daur, clinched the first position by securing 682 out of the total 850 marks.

Allah Dino of the M.G. Government High School, Hala, grabbed the second position with 680 marks and Ms Duaa of the Government Comprehensive Girls High School, Hyderabad, got the third position with 673 marks.

A total of 2,210 candidates (1,473 boys and 737 girls) appeared in the exams and 1,642 candidates (1,163 boys and 479 girls) of them were declared pass.
