PESHAWAR: Four civilians were injured in an explosion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bannu town on Thursday.

The explosion took place on Railway Road in the northwestern town and its target was a vehicle of the khasadar force.

Explosive material was planted on a motorcycle near a bank which was detonated leading to the blast.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Inayat Ali Shah said four civilians had been injured in the blast. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

He said that according to the BDS report, at least five to six kilograms of explosive material had been used and that it was detonated with a remote-controlled device.

Police and security forces had surrounded and cordoned off the site of the explosion. A search operation was also launched in the area.

Moreover, rescue teams had also reached the area.
