ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Tuesday directed the federal interior secretary and the chairman of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to a submit report within the next two weeks regarding the terrorist attack on Karachi airport.

The chief justice took notice of a petition filed by Nadeem Sheikh advocate with the Human Rights Cell (HRC) of the Supreme Court regarding the Karachi airport attack in which 37 people, including 10 terrorists, were killed during the overnight siege on June 8.

Nadeem Sheikh Advocate said in his petition that it was difficult to understand that even after the passage of many days the government had failed to provide any kind of financial relief to the families of victims who lost their lives during the attack.

The petition also requested the Supreme Court to direct the government to provide financial support to the families as soon as possible.
