MUZAFFARGARH: A first-year student, who had set herself ablaze in Bet Mir Hazar area in protest against a police report which helped the man who had allegedly raped her to obtain bail, succumbed to her wounds in a hospital in Multan on Friday.
She was buried amid tight security in her native town after autopsy.
Police arrested investigation officer Sub-Inspector Rana Zulfiqar Ahmad on the charge of carrying out a faulty probe into the case.
The girl attempted self-immolation on Thursday outside the Bet Mir Hazar police station after lodging a protest with the investigation officer for favouring the accused in his report. Police also arrested the main accused Nadir Bhand and his three accomplices.

Any possibility that the judge, the police officials and the attorney involved in the release of the rapist could be investigated. Honorable Chief Justice, can you please look into it....obviously not

My sympathies to the beavered family ,may her soul rest in peace, This perpetrators of this crime should be condemned by all and sundry and they should be brought to justice.

This is our pathetic Policing system, these investigating officers are damn corrupt. They take money and write investigation report. Everyone knows this and shame on our media which is still unable to point out this basic element of corruption. There is no merit system left in our courts. Every single police station collects several hundred thousand every day and deliver it to their seniors. Even An accused of 302 can change the initial investigation by investigation officer for three hundred thousand to seven hundred thousand depending on the way crime was committed.
