ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Bar Association on Saturday sought registration of a criminal case against inspector general (IG) Islamabad police Sikandar Hayat, senior-superintendent of police (SSP) Dr Rizwan and the station house officer (SHO) of Margalla police station for their alleged negligence during the attack on the district courts on March 3.

The association also constituted a four-member committee which would take up the matter related to March 3 incident.

The committee shall also take up the matter related to compensation promised to the aggrieved families of the victims.

In the complaint, it was contended that the policemen did not perform their job and left the unarmed people at the mercy of the terrorists.

The complaint also accused the police authorities of distorting facts.

The IG and SSP were accused of arriving late at the venue.

As many as 12 people were killed in the attack on the district courts on Monday.
