Chinese squad due on July 8

KARACHI, June 25: A strong 28-member Chinese hockey squad is due to arrive here on July 8 for a ten-day tour of Pakistan.

During their stay in Pakistan, Chinese team will play series of three matches against Pakistan Junior’s and play one Test against Pakistan senior besides taking on POF and Pakistan Army in Wah Cantt.

All the matches in Karachi will be held at Pakistan Steel (PS) Township ground.

PS on behalf of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will be providing free boarding and lodging to Chinese team during their stay in Karachi.

The visiting team will comprise of 21 players, four coaches, team leader, team manager and an interpreter. Former Pakistan Olympian Khawja Muhammad Junaid is among four coaches.

Song Yonggjia (team leader), Wang Tong (manager), Vang Yang, Yu Hao, Chen Dekang, Khawaja Junaid (all coaches), Liu Huirong (Interpreter) are officials of the team. Chinese squad is: Kiang Fbi (goalkeeper), Lu Peng, Hu Huiren, Zhang Xiaohui, Guo Jie, Chen Zhijian, meng Gang, Fang Yanqiang Qiao Yuandan (full back), Liu Weitang, Meng Lizhi, Yu Haihao, Chai Bin (half back), Yu Yang, Jiang Kishang, Song Yi, Li Yingwen, Luo Fangming and Meng Junzhu (forwards). July 10, match vs Pakistan Junior July 11, match vs Pakistan Junior July 123, rest July 13, match vs Pakistan senior July 14, match with Pakistan Junior July 14, departure for Rawalpindi July 15, vs POF Wah at Wah Cantt July 17, vs Pakistan Army at Wah Cantt.—APP
