BAHAWALPUR, Oct 18: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination and Sports Riaz Hussain Peerzada has said that the coming election of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) may become controversial.

Talking to local sports committee officials here, he said that to ensure impartial election, the government was considering constituting an independent body.

Mr Peerzada further said various objections of Olympians and hockey clubs had been received over the holding of PHF election under the supervision of the existing administration.

Talking about the promotion of hockey in the country, he said that with the cooperation of China, astroturf would be imported on cheaper rates for various small cities to provide facilities to the young talent.
