KARACHI: The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has rejected reports suggesting discussions within the party about a successor to MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

A press release statement by the MQM's Rabita Committee stated that news reports regarding discussions about a successor to Altaf Hussain was baseless, misleading and irresponsible.

The Rabita committee stated that there was no truth to these reports whose main intention was to create confusion about the party leadership among MQM workers and sympathisers.

The party stated that workers and office bearers of the MQM were united in their support of Altaf Hussain's leadership.
