KHAIRPUR, April 13: A widow was shot dead and her mother injured in Therhi on Wednesday. Azeeman Rind, 25, was going with her mother to a bank to collect pension of her father when some unidentified men opened fire at them, killing Azeeman and injuring her mother Manzooran.

Later, police arrested the accused.

According to Babarloi police, the arrested were identified as Arshad and Nazar Mohammad both Rind by caste.

The police took the body for post-mortem and the injured to the Civil Hospital of Khairpur.

Police said that Azeeman was the widow of head constable Sher Mohammad Rind who had been killed about a year ago over a dispute between two groups of the Rind community.

No case was lodged till Wednesday evening. Our correspondent adds from Larkana: A goldsmith, Mehboob Ali Shaikh, 35, was shot dead on Wednesday at the main bus terminal of Shahdadkot during a robbery incident.
