ISLAMABAD, June 5 Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali and Arbab Mohammad Zahir were inducted into the federal Cabinet on Saturday as Ministers for Finance, Education and Narcotics Control, respectively.

Dr Sheikh, who was Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance, was made a full-fledged minister after he took oath as a senator. The ministers were administered the oath by President Asif Ali Zardari.

Sardar Assef worked as adviser on education after leaving the post of deputy chairman of the Planning Commission. He replaces Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani who now holds the portfolio of Industry.

Arbab Zahir of Awami National Party is now the federal minister for narcotics control.
