LANDI KOTAL: At least four soldiers were injured in a roadside bomb blast in a remote locality of Khyber Agency on Monday.

Sources said that a patrol party of security forces was on a routine patrol duty in Sandana area, near Nari Baba locality in Bazaar Zakhakhel area, when it was hit by an explosives device planted at the roadside.

The injured soldiers were taken to a military hospital. Security forces started a search operation in the area, but no arrests were made.

The area had remained a battleground between pro-government Tauheed ul Islam and its rival Lashkar-i-Islam some three years ago.

Both groups targeted each other’s supporters by planting landmines in the past, causing human loss to both sides.

Nobody claimed responsibility for Monday’s blast.

Four volunteers of Tauheedul Islam were killed on Friday in the same region in infighting over a petty dispute.
