KOHAT: Unidentified gunmen killed a tribal malik in Akkhorwal area of Darra Adamkhel here the other day.

The elder identified as Ghora Jan was the owner of a sweets shop. He was sitting at his shop in Akhorwal when he was attacked, the authorities said. Mr Jan hailed from North Waziristan Agency. His body was taken to the civil hospital, Darra Adamkhel, and after postmortem it was handed over to the heirs.

The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained. Sources said that the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search for the arrest of the suspected killers. They said that the tribal elder had no enmity with anybody.

In another case a boy, Umer Zeb, allegedly shot and killed his father Badshah Khan inside his home in Ghafori Mela area of Sheraki. The political administration has filed the case and initiated search for his arrest.
