GHALANAI: A khasadar official and three volunteers suffered injuries when the vehicle of a local peace committee head was targeted with an improvised explosive device in Mohmand Agency here on Monday.

Political tehsildar, Baizai, Miraj Khan confirmed the incident and said that Baizai peace committee head Malik Sanobar was going in his vehicle when it was hit by an improvised Explosive device in Shandara area. As a result, Malik Sanobar, a khasadar official, Hazrat Ali, and two peace volunteers, Ismail Khan and Hazrat, were injured. He said that the injured men were shifted to a local hospital.

Following the blast, security forces launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

Meanwhile, the security personnel also defused another IED in the same area.

On the other hand, four shepherds were allegedly kidnapped by the Taliban militants in the bordering Khwezai tehsil on Monday.

An official confirmed the incident and said that the four shepherds went missing in the area who were feared to have been kidnapped.

Meanwhile, banned TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan telephoned journalists and claimed responsibility for the disappearance of the four shepherds.
