PESHAWAR: Three persons were shot dead, while bodies of two persons were found in different incidents on the outskirts of the provincial capital here on Tuesday.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a man identified as Nabi Shah near his home in Sheikhan village in the limits of Badhber police station.

Similarly, a man named Shaheen Shah was gunned down in Gharibabad area, also in the jurisdiction of Badhber police station. Police registered cases in both the incidents and launched efforts to trace the culprits. According to relatives they had no enmity with anyone.

In a similar development, an army subedar identified as Niaz Ameen, resident of Akhunabad area, was assassinated by unidentified motorcyclists in limits of Pandu police station. He was going to home after buying something from a shop when two persons riding a bike opened fire on him. Niaz Ameen belonged to Attock district of Punjab.

He was seriously injured and shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, police recovered dismembered body of a man from northern bypass area in limits of Chamkani police station. The head and limbs of the person were chopped off. According to police, the assassins killed the person somewhere else and threw his body near northern bypass.

Similarly, Chamkani police found another body of an unidentified young man, 24, near Choha Gujar area. Police said the body was thrown there at night after being killed somewhere else. It was shifted to the mortuary for postmortem.

Police registered FIR against unknown persons.

Meanwhile, extortionists hurled a hand grenade inside the house of a trader in Achinibala area. Kifayat Khan told Sarband police that someone hurled a hang grenade at his residence which exploded with a bang, damaging windows and walls.
