Grenade damages house

PESHAWAR: A house was damaged in Jhagra village in the limits of Chamkani police station when unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade at it on Wednesday.

A police official said that the attack was carried out in the evening but no loss of life was reported. He said that a portion of the house, owned by Shafiq, was damaged in the attack.

The official said that police conducted a search operation in the area, checked vehicles and pedestrians but no suspected person was arrested.

However, another official said that it seemed to be a ‘fake’ attack but Shafiq nominated his rivals Abdul Munir, Rasheed and Bilal in the FIR.

He said that Shafiq was already facing a buffalo stealing case and wanted to counter it through the ‘fake’ hand grenade attack. He said that a case was registered but the accused persons were not arrested because it needed to be probed.
