11-year-old in hospital after rape

DADU, Oct 16: A minor girl was criminally assaulted by two people in the Madina colony area of Mehar town on Saturday. Sanam, 11, daughter of Munir Channa, was coming from her neighbourhood when, Rameez Chandio and Naseer Chandio, kidnapped her.

They took her to an Otaq and raped her.

The girl fell unconscious and was taken to the taluka hospital of Mehar in serious condition.

She was referred to the Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana for check-up.

Munir Channa registered an FIR on Sunday with the Mehar police under the Zina Hudood Ordinance.

Citizens, social workers and political workers staged a demonstration in Mehar demanding arrest of the accused and observed hunger strike.

They were led by the JSQM district president, Abdul

Sattar Kalhoro, and father of the victim.

ACCIDENT: A Hyderabad-bound bust overturned at Garhi Mori on the Indus highway near Sehwan on Saturday.

The driver of the coach, Khidmat Hussain, 49, a resident of Nawabshah, died on the spot.

About 10 people were injured.
