Snooker camp begins

KARACHI, April 11 A 19-day coaching camp for the two China-bound cueists commenced at the Karachi Gymkhana on Saturday under the supervision of professional expert Mohammad Bilal.

Faisalabad's Mohammad Asif who stunned holder Mohammad Sajjad of Sargodha 6-2 to win the national title last month arrived here from upcountry and underwent at least five-hour training on the opening day.

The president of Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), Alamgir Shaikh, also visited the venue and urged the players to work hard for the upcoming Asian championship.

The camp will continue till April 29 while the two players will fly to China on way to Tangshan, on April 30.

This is the second time the PBSA has hired the services of Bilal.

Last year he coached Sajjad and Saleh Mohammad on the eve of the Asian meet held at Dubai.—Agencies
