Gunmen kill three in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, March 26 Three people were killed and three others wounded when gunmen opened fire at a medical store in Dera city on Thursday evening.

The gunmen on a motorcar escaped after the attack on the store in front of the polytechnic college on Multan road.

Two of the deceased were identified as Sajidullah and Jamshed.

The injured were Pervez Alam, Dr Shahnawaz and police constable Qamar Zaman.

The incident sparked fear and panic among the area people and shopkeepers closed their businesses.

AFP adds A senior police officer said that the victims hailed from South Waziristan. The deceased were members of militant leader Baitullah Mehsud's tribe, he said.
