PESHAWAR, April 11: The Peshawar High Court Bar Association has banned the sale of beverages of two multinational companies in the high court cafeteria to show solidarity with the people of Iraq.

The Bar had issued directives to the contractor of the cafeteria in the court not to sell Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola and other beverages of the said two companies.

Presently, juices and other soft drinks manufactured by the local companies are available at the cafeteria.

The Peshawar High Court Bar Association has been implementing the decision taken by its general body few days back.

The general body in its meeting had decided to boycott products manufactured by the United States and United Kingdom companies.

An office-bearer of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association said that although these beverages are manufactured here for local consumption but the ultimate beneficiaries are the companies based in the United States.
