KOHAT, April 7: The business and social circles have demanded re-shifting of the regional office of the National Bank of Pakistan back to Kohat from Dera Ismail Khan.

In a press release issued here on Sunday, Manzoor Ahmed Paracha and Syed Shaib Shah, president and secretary respectively of the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the regional branch of NBP was established in Kohat 15 years back to facilitate the local industrialists and some 60,000 overseas Pakistanis whose families are living in Kohat.

They said that the building in Kohat which had been abandoned by the management after the shifting of the offices was constructed with a cost of Rs120 million which after the fresh decision had been rendered useless whereas the management had rented a small building in Dera Ismail Khan for the same purpose..

He requested NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and the NBP high ups to fulfil their promise made in this regard as soon as possible.
