MINGORA: Robbers gang busted

MINGORA, March 26: Swat police have arrested criminals from various areas of the province, who are alleged members of a gang involved in burglaries and robberies.

District Police Officer Qudratullah Marwat and SDPO Amanullah Khan at a joint press conference on Wednesday said that following clues after some burglary, robbery and dacoity cases the police conducted raids in Nowshera, Charsadda and Swat and arrested a number of criminals.

Yar Mohammad of Charsadda, Ghulam Khan of Khaishki Nowshera, Ghani Gul of Khaishki, and Ghani Gul of Sherin Koti of Nowshera were produced before reporters during the press conference.

The admitted that they were involved in the robbery and dacoity cases.

An accused Liaquat, arrested for allegedly cooperating with the dacoits, rejected the allegations and claimed to be innocent.

The reporters were told that a woman was also behind bars for her role in the robberies and burglaries, who used to point the houses of well to do people in Swat and help the accused.
