SUKKUR, March 24: Three men were killed and two were injured in an armed clash between Cahchar and Teghani tribesmen in Soomar Pattan village, near Pano Aqil, on Monday.

Sohrab Chachar was on the way to his home when Teghani tribesmen opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

Later, the Chachars attacked the Teghanis and in the exchange of fire, Karim Bukhsh Teghani and Bachal Teghani were killed and Faqir Ahmad Chachar and Kumber were injured.

The Cahchar tribesmen later refused to hand over the bodies of Teghani tribesmen.

DPO Din Mohammad Baloch, who arrived at the spot along with a heavy contingent of the police, negotiated with the groups after which the Cahchars handed over the bodies to the Teghanis.

Tension has gripped the area as the warring groups are still entrenched against each other.
