I WOULD like to draw your attention to the worsening situation of public transport in Lahore.

New Khan buses are on roads for the public, but these are very few and unable to meet the requirement of the people, especially route no.22, route no.18, route no.17 and route No.7.

People have to wait for long hours at bus stops for these buses and whenever a bus arrives, senior citizens/aged persons often are not able to climb up the bus due to rush.

People climb these buses like animals and often have to remain standing during the journey.

This is only because there is no alternative public transport available for the people. This is a very dangerous situation.

Any accident could happen if the following steps are not taken

1. More companies should be allowed to run wagons and buses on these routes.

2. The New Khan company may please be asked to run more buses on roads.

I request Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to visit the New Khan bus stand at the Railway station.

More companies should run wagons and buses for public transport on route No.22, route No.18, route No.17 and route No.7.
