Talking about the measures adopted to increase production of electricity, Munir Ahmed Khan said the PPP-led government added 3,600MW electricity to the system besides initiating additional development work on Mangla and Terbela dams for increase of 4,500MW.

He said it also reinstated thousands of government servants who were dismissed during the last 13 years and regularised thousands contract employees.

The PPP government also distributed shares among 500,000 industrial workers, cheap tractors to farmers through Benazir Tractor Scheme, increased rural economy from Rs50 billion in 2008 to Rs800 billion in 2013.
