IT is tragic that eight people, including six women, administrating polio drops to children were shot dead. The families of the victims, who were doing humanitarian work, have been left devastated.

It is pathetic to note, as reported in the media, that none of the politicians or bureaucrats visited the families even to offer their condolence.

On the other hand, in the US after a number children were killed in a school, the government officials, senators, congressmen bureaucrats and many others visited the families to console with them. President Obama shed tears with his choking voice in his address to the nation and personally phoned the families to offer condolences.

On the other hand, our politicians were visiting London to get maximum political mileage for the upcoming elections rather than visit the shattered bereaved families back home.

Tragically, human values have disappeared from our country as lamented by Abdul Sattar Edhi on his narration at the digital media.
