KARACHI, Jan 6: Sindh has been in the grip of cold wave for the past few days with the lowest temperature recorded in Nawabshah on Sunday, when the mercury dropped to four degrees centigrade, said an official of the meteorological department.

The official said the cold wave had penetrated the province from northwestern side and almost similar weather conditions were expected to prevail on Monday.

He said that after Nawabshah, the lowest temperature recorded on Sunday in Sukkur was five degrees centigrade, six degrees in Larkana and Jacobabad and eight degrees in Hyderabad and Badin.

He said the weather was expected to remain cold, dry and foggy in Sukkur on Monday and the minimum temperature was expected to range between three and five degrees centigrade.

In Nawabshah, the weather was expected to remain cold and dry and the minimum temperature was to range between four and six degrees centigrade. It would be cold, dry and foggy in Larkana and the temperature would fluctuate between four and six degrees centigrade, said the official.

He said it was expected to remain cold, dry and foggy and the temperature would remain between five and seven degrees centigrade in Jacobabad while Hyderabad was expected to experience cold and dry weather with the minimum temperature expected to remain between seven and nine degrees centigrade.

The minimum temperature recorded in Karachi on Sunday was 10 degrees centigrade and weather on Monday was expected to remain partly cloudy with the minimum temperature ranging between seven and 10 degrees centigrade, said the Met official.
